Blogging is definitely the new black! However, there is blogging and there's blogging. There are countless free blogging platforms out there, Google Blogger and Typepad to name but a few. Blogging platforms such as these although very easy to use and basic are pretty limiting, plus more vulnerable security wise. Wordpress.com has lots more features and is more grown up and secure. But if you really want to set something up that is very much like your own website with your own domain name not anything dot Wordpress etc you really need to get a hosted Wordpress account. You will of course need a Wordpress.com account to have
Wordpress installed on your server. But once you have this set up, sky is practically the limit. You are then able to access the huge selection of third part plugins, widgets and themes to build your blog/site. You can even have e-commerce themes and plugins along with all the social media interactivity. Plus the great thing about Wordpress is that you get all the back end dashboard statistics to keep track of how you are doing and really get to grips with what your blog/site can do for you.
